WA is the first state to sign up to $1.6 billion funding deal for public schools
WA is the first state to sign up to education reforms set to deliver an extra $1.6 billion into public schools. The State School Teachers’ Union argues this won’t be enough.
Matt Jarman, President of the State School Teachers’ Union of WA, spoke to 6PR Afternoons host Julie-anne Sprague on why public schools may be worse off.
“Private schools are able to access capital infrastructure grants and have access to other funds public students don’t receive. That’s why the inequity and funding gap is getting larger,” he said.
