Timely reminder of the risks of home brewing
Two teenage girls have been rushed to hospital in Thailand with suspected methanol poisoning.
Associate Professor Darren Roberts explained to 6PR Breakfast hosts, Karl and Mark, how methanol can be incorrectly used in homebrews and that only 25 to 90 millilitres can be fatal.
“People who are guessing or making things up as they go along, or not reading the instruction booklets, are at risk of methanol poisoning,” he said.
