Scientists at the Heart Research Institute have taken a significant step towards uncovering a new biomarker that could identify people at risk of heart disease before damage is done.

Professor Julie McMullen from the Heart Research Institute explained to 6PR breakfast hosts Mick and Mark how this biomarker could allow early detection of at-risk patients.

“Once heart disease is present, it can be really hard to reverse, but if we can identify it early, we can then put strategies in place to prevent things like heart attack and heart failure,” she said.
