How to keep your four-legged friends out of trouble this festive season
Around this time of the year, of our beloved fur babies can tend to get in a bit of mischief, which can sometimes land them at an emergency vet.
Boxing Day and the next two-week period is the busiest time of the year for vets helping dogs and cats who have found themselves in trouble.
Dr Jackie Robb from Port City Emergency Vets told Chrissy Morrissy on 6PR that the top reasons for the surge in cases is vomiting and diarrhea due to pets eating toxic foods, snake bites, dog fights, heat stress, injuries and ingestion of foreign objects.
‘We just see a lot more injuries, a lot more traumas, a lot more mischief around Christmas,’ Dr. Robb continued.
