Internationally, electric boats are frequently used for recreational and commercial purposes, but Australia is only beginning to delve into the world of electric boats.

Chris Cudlipp from Sea Vault explains to 6PR’s Chrissy Morrissy the benefits of electric-powered vessels.

“Significantly lower greenhouse gas emissions, and on top of that, there is less water pollution and less noise pollution as well,” he said.

Chrissy then spoke to Gerd Heinen, WA Agent of Eco Boats, about how practical these eco-friendly boats are around Perth and WA.
“The electric boat has to carry all the energy with it, as long as you don’t have any charging infrastructure, and that is, I think, the next step,” he said.
