A listener voiced concerns about open-plan changerooms, and when Perth Today investigated, research was found showing that 60% of public pool users expressed concerns about the lack of private changing areas.

Travis Doye, Executive Officer (Acting) of LIWA, spoke to 6PR’s Chrissy Morrissy, agreeing that there has been a change in community standards.

“The local facility manager has a tough job, but certainly it’s an issue that they’re all aware of and work really hard to make sure that the community stays safe and has fun and walks out the door with a big smile on their face when they leave the local aquatic centre,” he said.
