LA fire victims left without fire insurance should be a warning for Australians
Scientific predictions indicate that one in ten homes could become uninsurable by 2035.
Karl Mallon, Co-Founder and Chief Executive at Climate Valuation, spoke to 6PR Breakfast hosts Millsy and Karl about how the risks of flooding, coastal erosion, and fire have escalated due to climate change.
The LA fires serve as an example of issues to come.
“A lot of people don’t realise that in LA about a year ago, the big insurance companies pulled out of providing fire cover. This means that many of these properties that have burnt down don’t have insurance,” he said.
