For over 10 years, fishermen have been struggling with sharks impeding their catch, and reports suggest the issue is escalating.

Andrew Rowland, CEO of Recfishwest, spoke to 6PR Breakfast hosts Millsy and Karl about how they have been unsuccessfully applying for funding to research scientific solutions to the problem.
“We’re seeking $2 to 3 million for a three-year program to focus on emerging shark deterrent technology, which is being increasingly adopted in the fishing sector,” he said.

Millsy suggests the solution is simple: reintroduce the culling of sharks.
