The original black on yellow or black on white State licence plates originally issued in WA between 1978 and 1997 are set to make a comeback.

But the blue design with a sunset on licence plates hasn’t been changed since 1997 so is it time for new tourism branding?

Chapter Brand Leadership Strategic Director Hannah Muirhead spoke to 6PR Radio Perth Live presenter Oliver Peterson and said failing to rebrand WA’s licence plates was a “massive missed opportunity” to bolster state pride, unify West Aussies, and make a statement about who we are and what we do.
