‘Not good enough in this day and age’: Millsy criticises ongoing pole-top fires

Mild drizzle is said to be the reason for a number of pole-top fires, causing 30,000 customers to deal with power outages overnight.
6PR Breakfast host Millsy questioned Zane Christmas, Executive Manager of Western Power, about rumours concerning a change in insulators used.
“No, we’re not using cheap equipment; that’s certainly not part of our strategy. Our strategy is to prevent, rather than have, these sort of situations occurring,” he said.
