Calls have been made for the State Electoral Commissioner to step down after reports of a lack of staff, and a shortage of supplies and ballot papers, which caused issues during the state election.

Breakfast show hosts Millsy and Karl spoke to 6PR listener Fiona from Secret Harbour, who has worked at elections since 2020.

She explained that the election onboarding process was outsourced and claimed this was the worst-run election process she has witnessed. Millsy asked what was lacking.

“Training, efficiency, communication, direction – it was an absolute shimozle. It needs to go back to the WAEC,” said Fiona.
