Word On The Street: Department of Transport begins to replace railway crossings in Western suburbs

The Word on the Street is the Department of Transport is beginning the process to replace the railway crossings in the Western suburbs.

Although planning is still in its early stages and no decisions have been finalised, the State Government is considering sinking the railway line between Port Beach and Subiaco, rather than elevating it as seen on the Armadale Line.

The high land value in the Western suburbs has made the corridor particularly attractive to property developers, aligning with the government’s urban infill targets. The potential for land sales could even see the project deliver a profit.

High-rise development may soon reshape the landscape of Perth’s golden triangle.
