The mystery surrounding magpie paralysis syndrome is troubling and concerning

WA Wildlife is reporting an escalating number of magpies dying from an unidentified neurological syndrome, with over 900 magpies reported in the last four months.
WA Wildlife CEO Dean Huxley spoke to Jamie Burnett about the symptoms and the urgency to identify the issue.
“We’ve just received a whole bunch of tests back in the last couple of weeks and all inconclusive again,” he said.

Simon Beaumont continued the conversation with Dr Flaminia Coiacetto from Murdoch School of Veterinary Medicine, whose team is investigating the condition.
“The really early information looks like it is something that is affecting their brain and also their heart,” she said.
