New report shows big health spend not reflected in improved health

Simon Beaumont

A new report into WA’s health system has been released, highlighting the need for a greater focus on prevention rather than treatment.

The Sustainable Health Review Interim Report has 12 preliminary points – report author Robyn Kruk told Mornings with Gareth Parker there are also issues with the high wages of some health staff.

Australian Medical Association WA President Omar Khorshid told Mornings he disagrees with some of the assessments.

Pip Brennan from Health Consumers’ Council WA also joined Mornings to share her feedback on the report.
