How one Perth school turned NAPLAN results around

Simon Beaumont

Wanneroo Primary School is being praised for turning around its literacy results in recent NAPLAN testing, after implementing a targeted program to improve reading levels across the school.

School principal Terri Reid, told Mornings with Gareth Parker, teachers at Wanneroo have worked hard to make reading appealing for their students.

Literacy specialist, Helen Orzel told Mornings, they’ve managed to increase the number of books being borrowed from the school’s library each year, from around 6,000 to more than 25,000.

Parents are now able to access last year’s NAPLAN results, on the My School website.
