50,000 meals a day at Athletes’ Village
Since September, a team of workers have been preparing the accommodation for the Commonwealth Games athletes on the Gold Coast.
6,700 athletes and officials live in the Athletes’ Village during the Games with 50,000 meals served up per day.
Paul Lovett is the Partner/Principal at Icognitus, the company running the Athletes’ Village, and he told 6PR Breakfast about the ins and outs of setting up a mini suburb for such a large event.
“There’s a lot of nocturnal activity,” Mr Lovett said about the down-time after some athletes have finished competing.
