Run-bid as cancer strikes again

Simon Beaumont

Cancer patient Peter Symonds thought his health was looking up, when the news came just weeks ago that the disease had in fact spread.

Listeners to Mornings with Gareth Parker first heard from Peter last May, as he prepared to run the HBF Run for a Reason, fresh from a round of chemotherapy.

Today, Peter told Mornings his family is facing yet another cancer diagnosis – doctors discovering his wife has a brain tumour.

Peter is trying to make a difference by raising funds for Cancer Council WA, and this year aims to complete the HBF Run for a Reason half marathon.
