Dockers want Bennell back
Fremantle’s Harley Bennell gave the game another crack yesterday playing for Peel Thunder, but was taken out of the game early due to “calf tightness”.
Bennell has played only three games for Fremantle in the past three years, after spending the five previous years with the Gold Coast Suns.
Bennell’s contract finishes at the end of this season but the Dockers are adamant the midfielder has something to add to the team, with Fremantle CEO Steve Rosich telling 3AW he just needs “to keep doing what he’s doing… He’s a very good trainer, Harley.”
3AW also asked about Fremantle’s hunt for Eagles’ defender Jeremy McGovern.
“We’ve brought in seven players from other clubs over the last three years and we think we can bring in some more that can help us,” Mr Rosich told 6PR’s sister station in Melbourne.
