No thongs, no singlets, no shorts… it’s a sign becoming more common at Aussie drinking holes, but one pub is taking things back to the good ol’ days.

The Abbott Hotel in NSW is banning man buns, moustaches and fedoras in their fight against hipsters.

Bill Smith is the publican at The Abbott Hotel and says he wants to give tradies a place to go, and stay, after a hard day’s work.

“Fellas, get your high-vis on, walk in with a muddy boot. If I’ve got to employ another person to sweep the concrete or the dirt up off the carpet, we’ll do that, but we want you welcome in this pub,” he told 6PR Breakfast.
