The real story with Hird and Sheedy
Essendon’s power couple Kevin Sheedy and James Hird are coming to Perth and they’re about to get personal.
AFL legend, Sheedy, says he will make sure Hird is open and honest when he asks about the doping scandal that hit the Bombers when Hird was coaching.
But talking about their heyday, Sheedy reflected and says Perth holds a special place in his and Hird’s hearts.
“The thing about Western Australia is, particularly West Coast, he played his last game there with me as my last coaching game [with Essendon], he won Best & Fairest that year, never played for Essendon again, which is quite remarkable when you think back,” Sheedy told 6PR.
“And then of course he had his skull broken in about six places over there [Perth] so it’s good to get him over there in front of the West Australian people so he can put it on the table and we can get him to open up.”
