A growing number of business owners in Perth are concerned local brothels are masquerading as “massage” parlours, devaluing their properties.

Ms Julie Bates, from Urban Realists Planning and Health Consultants was one of the contributors to a report into WA’s sex industry last year, published by Curtin University, which found decriminilastion was the best approach to sex work.

Community activist Lisa Thornton told Chris she wanted to see a ‘red-light district’ in Perth and that the safety of sex workers needs to be the driving concern behind policy.
