Australian researchers are close to developing a pill that could stop the body from storing excess fat.
South Australian Professor Damien Keating who led the International study discovered a gene called RCAN1.
When RCAN1 is blocked it leads to the reduction in the body’s ability to store fat and an increase in the muscles ability to burn calories while resting.
Professor Keating told Gareth Parker they are hoping the breakthrough will lead to the development of a pill to fight obesity but you really can’t go past exercise and diet for your health.
