History, beaches, wildlife… Albany seems to have it all, but it was pipped at the post by Victoria’s Port Fairy as Australia’s Best Town according to Wotif.

The Member for Albany, Peter Watson joked he wants a recount with Albany being named the second best town.

“I saw some dolphins this morning down in the harbour and there was dolphins swimming beside them and we get whales here on a regular basis. We have all those things, but we’ve also got things like the ANZAC Centre which is probably one of the best in the world,” Mr Watson told 6PR Breakfast.
