The Mayor of the Albany has backed a speed car event held at the local airport, following the death of a 26 year old man in a crash at the weekend.

The man was competing at ‘Racewars’ on Sunday afternoon when his Ford Mustang failed to stop at the end of a runway and smashed through a fence.

Further events are scheduled for today, and Mayor Dennis Wellington says the event is always well-organised.
