Sculptures funding sliding
Cottesloe Beach has been home to Sculptures by the Sea art exhibition for more than a decade, but this year’s display could be the last with funds dwindling.
The seaside installations have attracted thousands of people, including overseas tourists, but organisers say the lack of corporate sponsors could cost them.
“We’ve got a many year relationship with Tourism WA…Lotterywest have stepped up to the mark this year, where it’s really gone backwards this year is, last year’s budget we had 26% from corporate sponsors, this year it’s just 8%,” David Handley, founding director of Sculptures By The Sea told 6PR Breakfast.
