Those shopping for health insurance are being warned a lower tier of coverage doesn’t guarantee a cheaper price.

The new four-tiered system was introduced in April, designed to simplify health insurance.

Consumer group CHOICE says it has identified more than 200 Silver level health insurance policies, which cost more than higher coverage Gold policies from other providers.

CHOICE Dean Price told Gareth Parker says it can be worth a customer’s time and money to shop around.
