Perth family considering legal action over PathWest bungle

A Perth man has confirmed the family is looking at legal action – after his father died after receiving treatment for a cancer diagnosis he didn’t have.

Frank Wattam was told he had bladder cancer in late 2018 – he underwent chemotherapy and later had surgery to remove the bladder.

Two weeks later the family was told Mr Wattam didn’t have bladder cancer – he in fact had prostate cancer.

Mr Wattam suffered a stroke after then having his bowel removed – and died just over a week later.

His son Wayne has told Gareth Parker on Mornings – they’re now considering legal action.
