Perth lawyer John Hammond has echoed concerns about the use of information obtained by debt collection services – after making applications to the Supreme Court.

Companies seeking to recover debts such as parking fines and for fuel drive offs are able to make an application to the court under a specific order – to obtain the personal details of the alleged offender.

Questions have been asked about what companies may then do with the information.

Mr Hammond says there are legal requirements the companies must abide by.
