Mandatory code for Google & Facebook about ‘levelling playing field’
A mandatory code is being developed which will force Google and Facebook to pay traditional media outlets for content they publish on their platforms .
Both companies are accused of using the original material, and then deprive traditional players of billions of dollars in advertising revenue.
ACCC Chair Rod Sims told Gary Adshead on Mornings it’s about levelling the playing field.
