McGowan urges public to get back on the train

As people return back to work with Coronavirus restrictions easing the Premier is urging WA commuters to get back on public transport.

Premier Mark McGowan caught the train to work on Monday morning to lead by example and get other people using buses and trains again.

“It’s affordable, it’s high quality, we’re cleaning it a huge amount at the moment.
“It’s not the only way to travel, but it’s a great way to travel,” he told 6PR Breakfast.

Premier McGowan is also keen to keep the State safe from the spread of COVID-19 so it looks like the hard border will remain.

“The more worrying thing is Victoria so they have community spread of the virus so if we open the border and West Australians go there on holidays you can’t guarantee people won’t come back with it or Victorians won’t come here with it.

“So, we’re not going to risk people’s health,” he said.
