The Real Estate Institute of WA is urging the State Government not to extend emergency tenancy legislation beyond September.

The laws were introduced to protect residential and commercial tenants facing hardship during the coronavirus pandemic.

REIWA argues the legislation provided too many loopholes for tenants.
