Lockdown caused problems for everyone, but for backpackers relying on seasonal work and moving around, Covid-19 was a disaster.

After a backpacker friend ended up homeless due to the outbreak, Perth-based Nikki de Weerd and Miguel Enrique Fuentes started a Facebook group to connect the backpacker community to people willing to help, and now the Adopt-A-Backpacker movement has swept the nation, and the world.
