Perth comedian Joe White shared his fascinating story with Mark Gibson today, on 6PR.

Joe, who was born Tilahun Hailu – is one of six siblings to single mum Yezina Lakew. The family came to Australia from Ethiopia in 1998 – but not before enduring two years living homeless on the streets of Khartoum, Sudan.

Joe is now a professional touring comedian – he’s won Fringe World Festival’s best comedy award three times.

He’ll take centre stage again, in January.
