Our very own traffic reporter legend is doing this year’s World’s Greatest Shave.
Rob Beaver has leukemia and unfortunately his family has an extensive history of cancer too.

He joined Millsy to share more about his journey with 6PR listeners.

After a feeling tired and getting some blood tests, Rob went to get his result.

“I walked into the doctors office and he handed me a piece of paper and told me I had cancer and to go to the emergency ward,” he told Millsy.

“That’s how cut and dry it was.”

That was in 2015. Rob is now happy, fit and healthy with very minimal side-effects from medication he still has to take.

However, some people are not so lucky and he feels it’s time to do something to give back to the Leukaemia Foundation, who helped him greatly during the “worst time in his life.”

If you’d like to support Rob, you can donate here.
