Inspectors have found Hakea Prison remains a facility “under pressure” because of ageing infrastructure and resource challenges.

Physical issues include a lack of CCTV coverage, an old and poorly maintained kitchen, and weak points in the fence separating the facility from the adjacent women’s prison.
