Eagles spearhead Josh Kennedy says the team seemed to grow an extra leg with the return of All-Australian ruckman Nic Naitanui against Richmond at the MCG last Sunday.

In his regular segment on 6PR Breakfast, Kennedy told Mark Gibson – in for Gareth Parker – that the performance against the premiership contenders was a step in the right direction for the embattled club.

“All teams have their injuries – we’ve just been able to get some consistency in the past two months, in training and stepping back and assessing what we need to do,” he said.

Kennedy said he hoped to be back for West Coast’s home game against Carlton this Sunday.
