Boddington’s ‘burnout pad’ proposal to put a stop to hoons

A proposal to build a concrete ‘burnout pad’ has been made to a regional WA council in the hope of reducing hooning behaviour on the town’s streets.

One group in the country town of Boddington has come up with the idea of a concrete pad which would hopefully bring drivers to the town.

James Berry from the Boddington Burnout Group told Gareth Parker on 6PR Breakfast that it’s a pretty simple idea.

“It’s just a lump of concrete that we put down, and everyone goes out there, and that’s where we go and do our burnouts when we feel the urge to,” he explained.

“There are thousands of competitors throughout rural WA and Perth as well,

“We like the adrenaline; we love the rush of it; that’s basically what attracts us to it.”
