Ireland’s opposition leader visits Australia to convince ex-pats to return
Mary Lou McDonald has been touring the country trying to convince Irish ex-pats to return to the Emerald Isle.
Touted as the next leader of Ireland, Ms McDonald explained to Liam Bartlett on 6PR Mornings that people living in Perth are still looking to return to the country.
“There are others who really want to get home,” he said
“I think it is so important for me as the leader of the opposition but potentially as someone who might lead the government to say very directly to those people,
“We will work in Ireland to ensure that if you want that, you will have the chance to come home.”
