David Littleproud: WA has been left behind by ‘short-sighted’ Albanese government

Nationals Leader David Littleproud has been in WA since Sunday to speak to farmers and miners ahead of the Jobs and Skills summit next week.

The Nationals party leader has criticised the Federal Government for not visiting WA’s regions before the summit, which is held on September 1 and 2.

Speaking to Liam Bartlett on 6PR Mornings, Mr Littleproud said that government should take charge for the future of the live sheep export industry.

“This is short-sighted when you let animal activists announce government policy rather than the government itself,” he said.

“You can see it’s been driven by an ideological view rather than common sense and backing West Australians,

“I feel for those 3000 West Australians whose lively hoods are going to be taken away,

“Mark McGowan and I can work together and work together well to convince Anthony Albanese that this is a retrograde step.”

Littleproud was also unimpressed with a tweet from Anthony Albanese for International Dog Day.

“On the 18th of August is Vietnam Veteran’s Day, and the Prime Minister couldn’t tweet in honour of those Vietnam Veterans.”
