Beverages can flow until 3am in WA pubs and bars during FIFA World Cup
Bleary-eyed West Australian football fans will not have to watch early morning FIFA World Cup games alone in their living room as the state’s pubs and bars are given the green light to vary their opening times to cater for time zone differences.
Tony Buti, Racing and Gambling Minister told Mark Gibson on Perth Live that venues can apply for an extended trading permit during the World Cup, which will run from the 20th of November to the 18th of December.
“Premises can apply as long as they have a broadcast at their venue so people can come with their friends, family and watch their team far away from Qatar,” Mr Buti told Mark.
“We want people to be able to celebrate the event in a nice venue – it happens in other parts of the world – it’s a great atmosphere so it would be really good for people to come together and for the likes of business.”
