A truck driver has been rushed to hospital in Perth after crashing on the Kwinana Freeway near Wellard last night, spilling fruit all over the road.

Nine News Perth reporter Lucy McLeod said the driver lost control and hit a light post, driving through bushes and across a bike path before smashing into a wall, when the truck overturned on its side.

“It’s an incredible scene here, there’s apples everywhere … it will be a big clean up today,” McLeod told 6PR Breakfast hosts Oly Peterson and Jenna Clarke, in for Gareth Parker this week.
