A 6PR listener shared the news her son has been waiting for over 24 for surgery on both his arms after he was in a horrific car accident in Southern Cross.

The accident occurred in the early hours of Friday morning, where he was taken to Southern Cross Hospital and eventually transferred to Royal Perth Hospital, where he has been waiting for surgery since Monday.

Former Nurse Esther Roadknight told 6PR Mornings host Liam Bartlett she is just a mother fighting for her child’s life.

“I’m fighting for my child… it’s not right,” Ms Roadknight said.

Ms Roadknight blames the system not the nurses for failing her son.

“It’s not the staff, it’s the system,” Ms Roadknight says

“Government has to get in there and clean the system up.”
