The proposed upgrade and widening of Charles Street in North Perth is putting 100 homes and businesses in the firing line to be bulldozed in a bid to ease traffic congestion.

Emma Cole, City of Vincent Mayor told Oliver Peterson on Perth Live that they are questioning main roads decision for this significant intervention, as many residents find the traffic bearable.

“We are keen to see the modelling from main roads as residents say for the most of the time, it’s pretty smooth sailing,” she told Oly.

“We’ve got concerns from those both living on Charles Street and those in the surrounding suburbs as we have local facilities around Charles Street that the community uses.”
