A new police unit has been established in a bid to crack down on organised crime syndicates linked to Western Australia.

The unit will send officers around the world in an attempt to target Mexican drug cartels and crime gangs based in the Middle East that impact directly on WA. 

WA Police Commissioner Col Blanch told 6PR Mornings host Gary Adshead the goal is to protect West Australians.

“If you want to impact the West Australian community, we’re coming for you,” said Mr Blanch.
