After 30 years the Mandurah to Perth train line will be shut down for maintenance from December 26 until early January.

Public Transport Authority David Hynes told 6PR Breakfast closing the line during this period will have the least impact on travellers.

“We take the opportunity of a downtime like Christmas to … finish repairs,” said Mr Hynes.
