The NSW Animal Justice Party is pushing to advance the cause of pet owners who wish to bring their dog on public transport, in an effort to make Sydney more ‘pet-friendly.’

Alison Waters, Animal Justice Party member told 6PR Mornings host Gary Adshead, that they are wanting to see an expansion of the current system for animals on public transport.

“For anyone using public transport, you will encounter assistance animals – we would like to see that expanded to become more inclusive so that anyone with an animal in their care can travel on public transport,” Ms Waters said.

“If you need to get your animal to medical care and you don’t have a license – you will know that you can turn up to a bus or a train and be able to safely travel with your animal.”
