The Perth Lord Mayor has stated Australia’s National Anthem should change to a more inclusive song.

Basil Zempilas told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings the lyrics of ‘I am, you are, we are Australian’ is a more contemporary song that represents all Australians.

“It talks about how all Australians have come to be here, and of course our first Australians. I think it’s a much more appropriate song,” Mr Zempilas said.
