The Age has apologised for publishing a ‘racist’ cartoon in their Sunday newspaper following social media outrage.

The cartoon depicted the award-winning play Seven Methods of Killing Kylie Jenner, which was performed by two black actors.

Herald Sun cartoonist Mark Knight says he believes the cartoon was understated but the “woke wolf pack still came running.”

“I believe people are seeing outrage where there is none, I think what we are doing here is actually creating racism,” he said on 6PR Mornings.

“This play itself said it did not want white people to review it. Isn’t that racism?”
