An energy drink that has become a social media sensation overseas is going on sale in supermarkets today.

Dietitians have flagged their concern about the Prime energy drink as it contains six times more caffeine than a can of Coke.

Sports Dietitian at Griffith University Professor Ben Desbrow says he was surprised the energy drink was passed by Australian food regulators.

“The cost and profit margin on these drinks is huge and this is just a money-making venture and they just prey on a highly vulnerable market,” Professor Desbrow told Gary Adshead.
