Peter Bell, a two time premiership player for North Melbourne, is surprised by the timing of his former club’s decision not to renew the contracts of four senior players.

Games record holder Brent Harvey, Drew Petrie, Michael Firrito and Nick Dal Santo were informed of the decision before the last home and away game of the season. It gives the players a chance to farewell their fans in front of a Melbourne crowd before finals football potentially takes the Kangaroos on the road.

Bell says that of the four players Dal Santo potentially has something to offer another AFL club.
